System Requirements (client)
In order to run the Advocate RMS software, your computer(s) should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Windows XP or later operating system
- 512 MB of RAM (more is better)
- 500 MB (free) of hard drive space
- A mouse and a keyboard
- A monitor set to at least 800 x 600 resolution (1024 x 768 recommended minimum)
System Requirements (server)
A server is NOT required to run PIMS, but if you have more than one (1) user, it is highly recommended. ARMS can be run on a user's computer with the database local or on a server. The database can be a Microsoft Access database for a small group (1-5) of advocates, but it is highly recommended that you use either SQL Server (the express version is free) or MySQL.
If you decide to use a server, either for the Access database or for the SQL or MySql database, the following is recommended:
- Windows 7 Professional or Windows Server 2003 or later
- 4 GB RAM (more is better)
- 100 GB free hard drive space
Recommended Setup
- Client computers running Windows XP or Windows 7 with 3GB of RAM
- Database on SQL Server (express or full version) running on a server with Windows 7 or Windows Server 2003 (or later)
Generally, ARMS can be run on any computer purchased within the last 5 or 6 years. If you have Windows XP or later running on the computer, it will run ARMS.
